Squaresoft Media Pty Ltd (“Squarepay”, “we”, “us”, “ours”) acknowledges and respects the important of protecting the privacy of individuals. Squarepay collects, stores, uses and discloses personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Squarepay adheres to the Australian Privacy Principals (APPs), this includes information on how you may access your information, modify your information or make a complaint in the unlikely event of a breach of privacy.

This website is operated by Squarepay, ABN 57 159 307 150 in the territory of Australia. The site may contain links to other websites not operated by Squarepay. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to these sites, so always check the Privacy Policy of any other website you enter before disclosing any personal information.

2.2. How do we collect and hold the personal information

We may collect personal information directly from you in connection with our services as follows:

  • When a client of ours provides us with your personal information;
  • When you register or complete an application for payment services;
  • When you enter details through the Squarepay Website;
  • When you complete an Authority to process a debit to your nominated account;
  • When you exchange information through our Application Interface;
  • When you enter into a Squarepay promotion; or
  • When you accept or follow links to our website

Information collected through the Squarepay website and/or cookies is de-identified and does not identify you, but it could include IP addresses or geographical information.

It may also be required to collect information about you or your business from other sources, such as our business partners, your employers, credit reporting agencies, etc. We will use, manage and disclose this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2.3. Cookies

Squarepay uses cookies (small text files placed on your device) and similar technologies to provide our services and help collect data. Cookies allow us, among other things, to store your preferences and settings; enable you to sign-in; provide interest-based advertising; combat fraud; and analyse how our services are performing. Generally speaking, cookies do not contain personal information from which you can be identified, unless you have furnished such information to the Squarepay website.

3. USE AND DISCLOSURE

3.1. Reasons we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

Squarepay collects your personal information required for the purposes of operating our business and providing our services to you, including access to the Squarepay website, enabling us to contact you in the course of providing our services and/or providing you with an invoice for using our services.

We may disclose your personal information to third party contractors of Squarepay to facilitate the delivery and improve the quality of our services to you, diagnose technical faults, administer the Squarepay website and carryout maintenance, repairs, and develop our computer software and hardware. Your account, financial and billing information (including any changes to or corrections of such) may also be made available to intermediaries to manage accounts processing.

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties, including advisors, lawyers, accountants, acquirers (or potential acquirers) of all or any part of our business, or resellers who sell our services, or business partners with whom we exchange customer data for the purposes of our integrated business relationship with them, including to debt collection agencies for the purposes of collecting debts, or for the purposes of due diligence enquiries or in order to run the business or part of the business acquired.

Squarepay may also use or disclose any of your personal information for other purposes and/or to government or enforcement agencies as permitted by law, for investigation purposes or resolution of complaints in regards to your Squarepay account.

3.2. Direct Marketing

Squarepay may use your personal information for direct marketing activities, including providing you with newsletters, information and updates about our services and advise you on promotions and events. Direct Marketing is an opt-in service.

3.3. Google Analytics Advertising

Advanced Google Analytics Advertising is enabled on our website to deliver more relevant and targeted content to our visitors. Google Analytics allows us to collect anonymous data about website visitors via Google Advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers, in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. Google Analytics features may include but are not limited to:

  • Google Remarketing;
  • Demographic and Interest Reporting; and
  • Integrated services that require Google Analytics to collect data via advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers

4. QUALITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Squarepay takes reasonable measures to ensure your personal information collected is accurate, complete, relevant, and up to date. If you believe that any of the personal information we hold about you requires correction, please inform us using the contact details set out below.

If you establish that the information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete, irrelevant, not up to date or misleading (“Requires Correction”), we will, after investigating the purpose for which the information is held, take reasonable steps to correct any errors and if practicable notify any third parties that Squarepay had previously disclosed the information to of the correction. If we are not satisfied that the information Requires Correction we will, at your request, keep with your personal information a statement apparent to users of the information noting your request that information Requires Correction.

If at any time we refuse or deny you access to your personal information or refuse to correct your personal information we will provide you with reasons for such denial or refusal.

5. SECURITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We take reasonable steps to secure your personal information within our office and computer systems from misuse, loss, interference, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

However, data protection and security measures are never completely secure and, despite the measures we have put in place, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. You must take care to protect your personal information. You should also notify us via our contact details listed below as soon as possible if you become aware of any security breaches.

6. ACCESSING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have the right to request access to, and to obtain a copy of your personal information held by us, and we are required to respond to your request within a reasonable period of time. This is only exempt in circumstances where refusing you access is permitted or authorised by law, we will provide you a reason in such cases.

To request access the personal information held by Squarepay about you, you must complete and send the completed Request Form, link at the bottom of this Policy page, to us using the contact details listed below.

We may also charge a fee for providing you with access to your personal information. We will notify you of those costs prior to providing you access to the information. We may require these costs to be paid prior to providing you with access.

7. COMPLAINTS

If you are dissatisfied with how we have used or disclosed your personal information, or if we have not corrected or provided you access to your personal information, then you may contact our support team on (02) 9188 1311, and we will endeavour to answer your query by telephone.

If we are unable to answer your query by telephone, we will provide you with a form to enable you to notify us of the details of your complaint in writing, or by email on support@squarepay.com.au, or by post to:
